This expedition will transport you from the sunny skies of Cape Town to the seventh continent, for seven day and nights. Once on the ice, further exploration flights will take you to the most-southerly point on earth, the Geographic South Pole, and a second flight to meet the most remote and majestic penguins in the world, the Emperor Penguin.
Embark on a journey from Cape Town to experience one of the ultimate wildlife adventures on Earth. Over seven days, fly to Emperor Penguin colonies in small, ski-equipped aircraft, landing on ice shelves for intimate encounters with these remarkable birds — from egg-nurturing males to curious newborn chicks.

Between flights, explore Antarctica’s wonders on foot or by specialised vehicles, from towering ice walls to the vast Nivl continental ice shelf and the serene Schirmacher Oasis.
In addition to your visits to the Antarctic Ice Wall, the Antarctic Ice Tunnel, the Continental Ice Shelf, this is your chance to take to the skies above Antarctica, in search of the Emperor Penguins colony. Our Ultima Day Expedition begins by departing Cape Town International Airport in the early morning. After a 6-hour flight, we land on our blue ice runway. Our Expedition Camp is an Antarctic launch-pad, where explorers, engineers and scientists arrive and prepare their journey into the great Antarctic wilderness. On your arrival, you will join many of them in the dining hall for a hot meal.
