Ultima Antarctic Expeditions Doctor – Dr Sophie Mackenzie Main
Due to the adventurous nature of all our trips and expeditions, it is essential for us to collect information about your medical status and fitness to ensure a safe experience for you. This information will be reviewed by the expedition doctor, and may be shared with your guides – if it is necessary for your safety and well-being. If we have any questions about your ability to complete the program, we will call you to discuss.
All information provided by you in this form will be kept confidential by Ultima Antarctic Expeditions.
General advisory: It is advised that you consult with a doctor and dentist for a general check-up, prior to your trip to Antarctica. We are travelling to an extremely remote location with limited medical facilities. Evacuation may take days.
A doctor and paramedic are present at the Ultima Airbase and guides have first aid qualifications. There are no dental facilities in Antarctica.
Antarctic travel is not recommended for pregnant visitors or people with potentially unstable medical conditions.
If you take any regular medications, please ensure to bring extra supplies for your trip to Antarctica so you have sufficient medications on hand in case our departure from Antarctica is delayed.
